A pickle is a side dish that changes the meal. These are the combinations we would reach for at home. They are serving ideas, so start with a little and taste.

Aam Ka Asli Achaar
The classic. Hot paratha, cold curd, one spoon of mango on the side.

Aam Ka Asli Achaar
A Sunday breakfast. The sour cuts through the fried and the spiced.

Mango & Heeng Pickle
Plain, warm comfort food, lifted by the hing.

Mango & Heeng Pickle
Sharp and savoury next to soft, tangy kadhi.

Garlic Delight
A plain weekday dal-roti, lifted by a little garlic. Use a small spoon, it's bold.

Mixed Pickle
A bit of everything on one plate. Great with simple rice meals.

Lucknowi Red Chilli Pickle
A tea-time snack with a proper kick.

Lemon Pickle
Tangy and bright next to something soft and mild.

Amla Murabba
A sweet preserve rather than a pickle. One piece alongside something savoury.
Try mixing two jars on one thali: mango for the tang, garlic for depth, and a little chilli for heat.
Explore a few flavours together and find the ones your table comes back to.

Jijji's secret techniqueEvery winter, our jijji packed extra achaar for the neighbours. We still mix and jar every batch by hand, in small runs.

Not machine-milled, so the oils in the spice stay alive.
Never refined or diluted, the way Lucknow pickle has always been made.
Most commercial pickle skips this step entirely. We don't.
No automated filling line.

Genuinely handmade: hand-cut ingredients, hand-ground spices, hand-filled jars. We are a small kitchen, not a factory.
No artificial colours and no artificial flavours. Salt and mustard oil do most of the preserving, the traditional way, and each jar also lists a permitted preservative (INS 211) on its label. The full ingredient list is printed on every jar and shown on its product page.
Every jar has some chilli, and the Lucknowi Red Chilli Pickle is the sharpest. If you are unsure, start with Aam Ka Asli Achaar or the Mixed Pickle.
A sweet preserve of whole amla (Indian gooseberry) cooked in sugar syrup. It is eaten as a sweet, not as a spicy pickle.
Mangoes, chillies and spices are sourced from local markets around Lucknow.
The ingredients for each jar are listed on its label and product page. If you have an allergy, message us before you order.
